A Voidsent that was wandering the realm when he came upon a crying Hrothgar. He observed her from the shadows as she was lamenting on years of misfortune and bad luck encountered in her life, writing it all down in her journal. She spoke as she wrote, yearning for someone to help grant her company, seeking someone to just guide her through lifes tribulations. As she finished writing and went to sleep, the voidsent entered and began to read through the journal. He read her hearts desire, what she sought in a partner to stand by her side. Upon reading the journal, the voidsent followed her around for several weeks, witnessing first hand the cruel treatment of society around her for her differences. One evening, after she once again wrote down her sorrows, he took action, using his Aether to transform into that which she sought for so long. The next morning, she woke up to a knock on her front door. Upon opening it, she saw him, a tall Hrothgar who was dressed in her favorite shade of green robe. He explained he was a wanderer, having been injured and losing his memory even though it was a lie. From that day, their romance took off, she helped him adjust to living in town, being her constant every day. Life improved thanks to his help, his strength, and his presence in her life, her luck finally began to turn around. She gained confidence, strength, wisdom, no longer afraid of the future, but embracing it, even upon learning what his true nature is, she embraced him with open arms, because she could tell the man within was meant for her and only her.

One of 3 orphan captives from Ilsabard by the Garlean empire, used to experiment on in order to create living weapons to coincide with the machina weapons the Garleans controlled. Roman was slated for mechanical upgrades, mechanical arm, legs, even removing one of his eyes for a cybernetic implant to increase his sight range and peripheral to aid in combat. These mechanical body parts are powered by the same ceruleum Garleans use to power their machina. Alongside the mechanical 'upgrades', Roman was also subjected to a few injections of chemical upgrades to help increase body growth, strength, speed and endurance. Trained for several hours every day for years, the Garleans sought to create an elite squad of 5 members to infiltrate their enemy targets to have soldiers on the inside while machina lay waste to the outside. Roman was their top soldier, until one of the other 4 elites, had broken free from the mind control device implanted in their back, going to break free the other elites in an attempt to fight for their freedom. With the chaos of the Bozja Incident distracting many of Garleans top leaders, Roman and the others used the incident as a chance to fight their way out and escape, to go and live a life previously denied to them by their captors. With the events that lead up to the fall of the empire thanks to the Warrior of Light and company, Roman has taken up being his own adventurer to explore the lands and test his skills. With the help of Cid and Garlond Ironworks, they help keep Roman's mechanical parts functioning to allow him to live as he now chooses to be, free.
